Volunteer Profile

Who: Iv Channa, CYWA Volunteer, Student at RUPP

Channa is from Takhmau City. She is currently a 3^rd year student at Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) at the Humanity and Social Facilities.  She is majoring in Psychology.

How She Learned about Us:

She learned about the volunteer program vie internet/websites. When she saw the announcement looking for volunteers at her university, she thought it was an opportunity to help society through volunteerism.

Why Volunteering with Us Appealed to Her:

Channa hopes to gain experience from team work, and improve her ability by taking part in SCWHR Cambodian Young Women’s Advocacy Volunteer Campaign. She is also eager to learn more about ASEAN.  She want to become a consultant in NGOs, and  also dreams of helping women in Cambodian society by urging them to participate, and giving them a chance to make decisions in the society.  Channa believes that it is important to provide role models for young women. We can gather the idea of some key role models, publicize those ideas, highlight their achievements and provide inspiration to all young Cambodian women. This will highlight and illustrate how women are important in Khmer Society.

Interests:

I enjoy dancing and singing. She is a dedicate to her schooling and enjoys being part of a group.
